You will join the Business Computing (BC) group.
Our team is responsible for the operation and the further development & evolution of CERN’s core financial and procurement systems supporting the entire organization.
The type of products under your responsibility will range from custom-made solutions for a few users to large and widely integrated systems with 15,000+ users.
Working with us provides numerous perspectives for being in touch with different technologies and business areas.
Specifically, you will take on the following responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test data models and extractions (ETL), using Pentaho Data Integration (and other Data Integration tools/techniques), SQL, PL/SQL, R and Python;
- Interact with relational databases using SQL;
- Extract and visualize data in forms, reports and interactive dashboards;
- Configure and write software to integrate data from standard third-party provided software solutions run on premise or available in the cloud;
- Maintain, support and enhance existing (legacy) systems;
- Provide end user support and carry out data migrations and software upgrades.

- Experience in working with data warehouses, data integration / ETL tools and business intelligence solutions;
- Experience with relational databases and SQL;
- Experience with version control systems, particularly, Git;
- Initial experience with reporting/dashboarding tools and techniques (e.g.
Pentaho Report Designer, CTools, Power BI, R, Shiny, Python);
- Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile self-organised team environment;
- Comfortable in working with both new and legacy systems.
- Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.
Each of the following would be a plus:
- Understanding of ERP systems and their integration with other systems;
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitLab or equivalent;
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in IT, Software/Systems Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
